With current closures among school districts, I have added this page and will update information, activities, and coping skills as we all navigate this national response.

Activities:
- Quite often students find writing or drawing about how they are feeling very helpful. Here is a sample journal with prompts at the top of each page.
- Positive Thinking is one way we can turn our focus on the present. Use this handout and pick three positive affirmations that speak to you. Write each one on a separate index card. Tape the index cards to the mirror that you brush your teeth in front of each day. Review each affirmation daily! Change your index cards weekly.
- Breathing is one aspect of mindfulness I focus on in sessions. Here are my favorite go-to breathing posters that can be used with your children (and yourself!)
- Create a scripture snack bottle! Print this document, cut each scripture into strips, fold, put them all in a basket or a simple container. Each day each family member draws one. Talk about each one as a family and let the words guide you that day.
- Be intentional with your conversations. Focus on other things and find out new things about each other! Use these conversations starters to get you going...
Coping Skills:
If you are finding your child has become a little bit anxious, here are some projects you can do with them to relax their worries. Along with limiting their exposure to the news and social media, ensure you listen to their thoughts and worries. Sometimes an attentive ear is all they need.
